Queen Mary Centre
The Queen Mary Centre is a community centre located in the heart of the beautiful Fenland town of Wisbech.
The Queen Mary Centre (QMC), located in the heart of Wisbech, is a building for the community and has many spaces and venues available for hire and has been used for a variety of functions including wedding receptions, karate classes, zumba, youth groups, one-on-one counselling, NHS blood donation clinics etc. We also have a church meets here on a Sunday.
In July 2013, Ferry Project, Cambridgeshire County Council and The Kings Church assumed management of the centre, reopened it to the public and started on refurbishments to give the building a new lease of life.
The QMC is seen as a focal point for the town due to its size, location, facilities, volunteering opportunities and its potential social impact.
The centre has many spaces and venues available for hire. It has historically been used for a variety of functions and community events, including wedding receptions, karate classes, zumba, youth groups, the delivery of counselling services and NHS blood donation clinics. The QMC currently has a church group that meets at the centre every Sunday.
The QMC facilities range from 2 large halls (one with a stage), a gym with communal sports equipment, youth suite, café / bar facility, and a variety of meeting and training rooms. Refreshments, projectors, screens and flip charts are all available on request.
All profit generated from the Queen Mary Centre is ploughed back into the regeneration of the facilities, as well as in supporting Ferry Project to help homeless people rebuild their lives and progress to independence.
Supporting the QMC not only supports the community, it also saves lives!
