Our rapid housing service opened on 24th of June 2019 has helped hundreds of clients with their housing needs, from working to bringing rough sleepers off the streets and into the warm or assisting in homelessness prevention.

Our doors are open between the hours of 13:00 to 15:00 on a Monday to Friday basis or by appointment outside of this.

The HUB is based at our premises at the Queen Mary Centre (via the rear entrance) and cater for the age group 18-65 years old.

It is our intention to provide a warm and safe place, with trained staff on hand to provide support and link people to essential services.

Homelessness is a diverse and complex issue and whilst some people’s pathway to housing may be solved quickly, others who have multiple disadvantages may take longer.

Everyone’s pathway will be different, but all will have access to tailored, person centred support and an action plan that is unique to them alongside rapid access into specialist services such as health and wellbeing.

In addition to our direct delivery of a support, our HUB will offer the following onsite services;

  • Food Parcels
  • Clean clothes
  • Laundry services
  • Housing and benefit related advice
  • Access to health and wellbeing services
  • Meaningful activities
  • Access to complex needs services such as counselling, mental health and drug and alcohol.

To end rough sleeping, it’s not a simple case of getting people into accommodation. It’s about providing an extensive portfolio of support, and mobilising the correct resources to give rough sleepers and homeless people the tools and belief in themselves to achieve positive outcomes and long term sustainable solutions.

Our service is open to anyone with a local connection to Fenland, and we welcome your referrals, which you can send to the following email address; RapidRehousingPathwayHUB@placesforpeople.co.uk
