Funds Raised at Summer BBQ
We had a wonderful time at our Summer BBQ fundraising event that was held Sunday 15th August 2024.
Plans has to be adapted at the last minute due to the high wind speeds being experienced around the county at the time, so the bouncy castle was moved indoors. Drinks were served from the foyer entrance area of the Queen Mary Community Centre and the BBQ, seating and live music were just outside the foyer in the garden area of the community centre.
The Ferry Project cookery school had prepared a BBQ feast and tickets included burgers, sausages, chicken, an array of different salads and cake for dessert.
Everyone enjoyed the live music that serenaded them as they chatted and enjoyed the BBQ. The College of West Anglia were also present with a community engagement stall that provided some games and entertainment, as well as the bouncy castle that the children enjoyed.
We wish to thank everyone from the community who came along and helped support our charity through your donations, as well as some of our residents who also took part in the event.
£300 was raised and will go into the 'Hardship Fund' that our clients can access to help to pay for things such as clothing, training and transportation to job interviews etc. All which help in giving a homeless person a fresh start in life.
