Ferry Project on Radio & TV
Ferry Project has received some media coverage recently, centring around some of the different aspects of work we do through our cookery school.
On 12th September, BBC Radio Cambridgeshire joined us during one of our 'One Pot Wonders' classes. This is a free 5-session course for those aged 65+ and who live in the Fenland Area. The courses run for 5 consecutive weeks, and then we start again from the beginning with a different cohort of attendees. With funding crom Care Together, Cambridgeshire County Council, these cookery courses are aimed at being healthy, nutritionally balanced, simple and easy to do as well as not costing very much to make. All of this is aimed at helping those in their older years to improve their overall health and wellbeing.
The Radio Show aired on BBC Radio Cambridgeshire on Thursday 19th September between 11am and 12pm. You can listen to it again on BBC Sounds. Move the player +1 hour in to get the start of the cookery school interviews.
Then on 17th Septmber, BBC Look East TV were at the cookery school. This time learning about how the cookery school helps our homeless clients to learn cookery skills to help prepare them for independent living.
