Fabulous Fenland Food Festival

Saturday 6th September 2025 saw the Queen Mary Centre in Wisbech spring to life with the Fenland Food Festival for the third year running.

This year's festival was bigger and better than ever and included an additional 'Street Food Zone' for the first time. Another first for the event was the many local food producers and suppliers who were able to showcase and sell their products at the event, as in past years nearly all the stalls were orgainsed and run by the hosts 'Ferry Project Cookery School' and a few community groups.

The cookery demonstrations, talks and tastings were moved into a quieter venue, which enabled the capacity crowds to hear the presentations better. Acclaimed chef, recipe writer and Manager of Ferry Project Cookery School, Alison Crouch gave two cookery demonstrations, showcasing a variety of products from the vendors present on the day. Andrew Callaghan from the Fenland Orchards Project gave an inspiring talk about the project and Pete Davies from Cheese and Bees gave a very interesting talk about cheese as well as some very tasty samples.

There was still a lot of free things on offer including the very popular have-a-go cookery stand that was oversubscribed for each of its three sessions. Live music was provided by the folk music group 'The Shackleton Trio' and local musician 'Matt McChlery'.

Many present also engaged with the Healthy You stand who were very pleased with the many conversations and information leaflets they had given away about healthy eating and having a balanced diet.

Several food vendors sold out and are already looking forward to returning in 2026.

The event was attended by approximately 350 people with 57 people leaving very positive feedback including: "great choice of local produce", "great environment, friendly vendors - the music was great", "A really impressive event. Nice range of vendors with great produce. Good talks. Engaging activities for the young and...less young. Fab music. Really brought the community together".

L. Tolley was the winner of the special Fenland Food Festival hamper that included a branded tote bag, pickles from Manfood, Elgoods special celebration bottle, Marshland Cider bottle, Cross Keys and Bees jar of honey and a bottle of wine from Ratcliffe Wines.

We are already looking forward to next years event that will be on Saturday 5th September 2026.
