Ferry Project was honoured on Friday (10th October) when Jack Kenwright and his family travelled two hours from Colchester to visit.

They were shown some of the public spaces here a Ferry Project including the Cookery School and Art Gallery as well as hearing about the different psychologically-informed accommodation types we offer our clients as they journey with us through their recovery from homelessness towards independent living. They also got to see the Footprints room that is used for counselling sessions and health checks including smoking cessation and visits from a local GP's nurse practitioners. We also talked about the trauma-informed care we provide as well as our wrap around bespoke, 24/7 support. The tour finished with a look at the newly started building works on the top floor where a new Haven is being created for those who need to stay with us on a longer term basis, which will include en-suite facilities (like all our accommodation), a living space, bedroom and kitchen facilities.

Jack has recently had his 30th Birthday and very kindly requested that instead of presents, friends and family gave a donation that he would then take to a homelessness charity. We are very grateful to be the recipients of Jack's kid donation of £760. We have added this to our 'Hardship Fund' - which is a fund that our clients can apply to directly for things they need to help them move forward in their lives.

Thanks for coming Jack, and for your very generous donation.
