A Night to Remember: Recapping the Highlights of Our Fundraising Fashion Show
Thursday 26th March 2026 was a night of glitz, glamour and fashion. The Ferry Project Fashion Show returned for its second year, bigger and better than before.
This year boasted 19 volunteer models from the community, and also 13 student models from the College of West Anglia.
The models wore a range of outfits highlighting a variety of styles including work-wear, casual wear and evening wear. The focus for this year was the Ferry Project’s work with homeless clients and how they help through Education and Employment opportunities.
This year, Ferry Project collaborated with the College of West Anglia for this event and gave work experience opportunities to many students in a variety of areas such as sound and lighting, photography and videography, video production, hair and beauty and fashion design and performance
One of the highlights of the show was when the students took to the catwalk – as some were wearing outfits designed either by themselves or other students studying fashion at the college. These included a coat made out of surgical facemasks, a two-piece outfit made entirely of crochet that the student had done themselves and a tracksuit jacket and trousers made from a recycled tent, highlighting the transformation someone sleeping rough can go through when they encounter the help provided by the Ferry Project.
We also took the opportunity to bid farewell to Keith Smith, Founder and CEO of Ferry Project. Keith has been at the helm of the charity since it began 27 years ago. Through is visionary leadership, he has helped it to grow into the outstanding organisation that it is today, helping 300 people escape homelessness or with homelessness related issues, every year. We thank him for his work and wish him well in his retirement.
Lydia Dennis, Work Placement and Careers Coordinator from the College of West Anglia says: “It has been a privilege for CWA to collaborate with The Ferry Project in their upcoming charity fashion show, providing our creative students the opportunity to showcase their talents across fashion, performing arts, creative media, music, photography, art & design and hair & beauty. Our students have been working incredibly hard behind the scenes, creating costumes and accessories, along with filming and composing a short film addressing homelessness that will be showcased on the night. We can’t wait to see their creations come to life at the fashion show.”
Sandra Ferreira, CEO of Ferry Project says: “We’re proud to bring our Fashion Show back to Wisbech and use creativity to highlight the realities of rural homelessness. Partnering with the College of West Anglia has brought incredible energy to this year’s event, with students contributing skills across design, media and production. It’s a brilliant example of community collaboration celebrating local talent while raising vital support for people experiencing homelessness.”
The event raised over £2,000 for the charity. A big thank you to our sponsors: College of West Anglia, Fenmarc, Job Centre Plus, Clarion Futures and the team of models from OnTrack Education. Thank you to all who attended and participated.
