Ferry Project Cookery School Food and Drink Heroes Awards
Yesterday evening, Alison Crouch, our amazing Cookery School Manager, attended the Velvet Magazine Food & Drink Awards - Cambridgeshire & Suffolk. We were nominated as one of three finalists in the Food & Drink Hero Category. This category celebrates those who deliver excellence, have a passion for food and share and pass on their passion to others - building and enhancing their community. Ferry Project Cookery School is outstanding in all these aspects, which made us worthy Finalists.
The Magazine quoted one of our nominations as saying: "This project is centred around helping homeless people in a rural town to rebuild their lives - but it's become so much more. There are a wide range of community classes encouraging healthy eating on a budget and teaching people of all ages and in all circumstances how to feed themselves and others."
Unfortunately, we did not win on this occasion, but that takes nothing away from the immense impact and hard work of our dedicated Cookery School Tutors, our community supporters and our clients. We are extremely proud of everything the Cookery School has accomplished and achieved so far, and we look ahead with optimism and determination as we seek to grow our Cookery School in 2026-27.
