Three Lions, One Community: Our World Cup BBQ Brings Everyone Together
There is something special about the moment a crowd holds its breath together, eyes fixed on a screen, united by hope. Last night, we got to share that feeling as staff and clients gathered for a World Cup-themed BBQ to watch England take on Croatia in their opening match of the tournament.
The smell of food on the grill, the sound of laughter, the glow of the big screen — it was one of those evenings where the walls between "staff" and "clients" simply disappeared. We were just people, together, cheering for the same thing.
For weeks now, our support teams have been quietly working behind the scenes to make sure everyone here can get swept up in the spirit of the World Cup. Alongside the BBQ and live screenings, we have put together a full programme of World Cup activities — including themed bingo nights, and a friendly sweepstake with a shopping voucher prize up for grabs for the lucky winner. There is plenty more still to come.
We think moments like these matter deeply. Recovery is not only about practical support, important as that is. It is about feeling part of something. It is about joy, connection, and belonging — about sitting next to someone, sharing a plate of food, and forgetting, even for a little while, whatever weight you have been carrying. Those shared experiences build something real. They remind us that everyone here is valued, everyone is welcome, and no one has to face life alone.
So as the tournament unfolds, we will be watching every step of the way — together.
Now, the most important question: who are you supporting?
